Tom Shelman 

Tom Shelman currently serves Harmony Technology Services as its Executive Vice President, where he is responsible for creating and implementing business strategies for equity investors interested in acquiring information technology companies synergistic with currently owned businesses. His 34 years of diversified experience in the Information Technology and Aerospace and Defense industries have formed a solid executive leadership and technical foundation based on quality, personal integrity, and commitment.

Shelman spent 26 years with Northrop Grumman Corporation, including serving as Vice President and General Manager of the Civil Systems Division of its Information Systems Sector, where he provided integrated information systems, applications, networks and service solutions that enabled and supported customer missions for federal civilian agencies, state and local governments and international government with key capabilities in the areas of Civil Security, Health IT and Cybersecurity. Annual revenue exceeded $2.1B with an employee base of over 7,000.

 Shelman’s other positions with Northrop Grumman were President, Defense Group, Information Technology Sector; and Vice President, Information Technology Solutions and CIO. Other experience includes spending two years with General Dynamics’ Fort Worth Division; two years with Bell Helicopter Textron; one year with the Department of Defense in a civilian capacity, and three years active duty in the U.S. Air Force.

A recognized industry leader, Shelman served as a member of the Federal Government Leadership Forum, a group working to improve information sharing between the public and private sectors to protect our country. He also served two years as chairman of the Aerospace Industries Association’s e-Business Steering Group.

Shelman counts as among his many distinctions being named CIO magazine’s CIO 100 Award in 1997, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2006, and earning the InformationWeek ‘Top 500 Award’ in 2000 through 2007, and named a Top 100 Innovator, 2005. He was also named Information Systems Executive of the Year for 2003 by the David D. Lattanze Center at Loyola College; Premier 100 IT Leader by Computerworld in 2004; Litton Industries Integration initiative chosen among Computerworld’s 12 Best in Class; and honored with the American Business Award for Best Management Information Systems/IT Executive, 2006.

Shelman received his Bachelor of Science in Industry and Technology from Texas A&M University in Commerce (formerly East Texas State University). He received his Certification in Configuration and Data Management from San Diego State University’s College of Extended Studies.  Tom has also, studied at the U.S. Air Force Electronics Technical School at Chanute AFB.
